The Man in the Glass

When u get what u want
in ur struggle for gain
And the world makes u king for the day
Just go to the mirror and look @ urself,
And see what that man has to say.

It isn't ur father, or mother, or couple,
Whose judgement upon u must pass.
For the one whose verdict counts most in ur life
Is the one staring back in the glass.

U may be one who got a good break
And think u're a wonderful guy.
But the man in the glass
says u're only a fake
If u can't look him straight in the eye.

U may fool the whole world
down the pathways of years,
And get pats on the back as u pass.
But ur final reward will be
heartaches and tears
If u have cheated the man in the glass.
